Daddy got to stay with us for 2 weeks!!! Desmond and I both had Dr's. appts, but we didn't get out much else b/c it was cold!!!! Then after 2 weeks Rich had a meeting in Little Rock so we had to go to Nanie's (my mom's) to stay. I was too nervous to stay in Batesville with no family around with a newborn. She was so much help! Plus lots of family got to see us while were there.

We finally were discharged on Saturday afternoon to come home. We couldn't wait to get home with our sweet boy! Little did we know he didn't plan on sleeping for the next 2 days or nights...haha!!!

Here we all are ready to go home!!!

We had lots of company on Desmond's first day at home. Nanie & Tad came by. Also, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Lori, Andrew & Reece stopped by. This boy is very loved!!!! So excited to have him at home!!!!!!!

Here is a not so short version of Desmond's birthday!! Enjoy....

January 25- Bed Rest due to Blood Pressure being a little high. Went to dr. at least 1x weekly sometimes 2x to check on my blood pressure and our boys heart rate. We were both doing great!!!

February 14- We went to see Dr. Carlton for our weekly check-up on Valentine's Day. I was hoping to ask to get out long enough to go out to eat. I was going a little stir crazy in the house :) Then Dr. Carlton came in and said blood pressure was a little high so let's just go ahead over to OB. She was going to induce. I bet I asked a million questions in the next 5 minutes. She told us we had time to go home and get our bags and get back to hospital. We were so nervous, excited, scared and lots of other feelings. I couldn't wait to meet our boy.

We got to the hospital about 6 p.m. Our nurses were waiting for us! The awesome nurses let Rich go and get me dinner. They even offered to turn down the lights for our romantic Valentine's day dinner haha!!! Midnight they started my medicine to induce.

February 15- Didn't make much progress. Dr. Carlton tried to break water but first time Desmond's head was too close, so she wanted to wait. Then she came back and his head was no longer down where it should be so she starting talking about a C-Section at this point.

All of our family was there or starting to get there and I went back about 10:00 a.m. I think. I was in panic mode at this point :) But Dr. C and nurses were so great. Rich came in and then I heard "Wow. He has a head full of hair!!" And I heard our little boy cry (scream) for the first time. They brought him to me and I was soooo in love!!!!!! 11:12 a.m. 7lb 3.9 oz. 18 1/2 in.

Desmond Riley Jones was finally here!!!!!!!

Rich and a nurse carried him back to our room. I was only away for about 20 minutes I think. Then right back to my sweet miracle!! The nurses did their stuff and then Rich and I got some time alone to spend with Desmond. It was wonderful!!!

Family and friends started to come in and visit us. I wasn't feeling so well part of the night so I faded in and out, but we were so blessed to have such a healthy baby boy!!!!

We stayed in the hospital from Monday-Saturday. I was released on Thursday, but Desmond had to stay for Jaundice so we were able to room-in with him. We were very spoiled at White River Medical Center. They took such good care of us and taught us so much!!!! But we were very glad to get to take our boy home.

15 Weeks!!

How far along? 15 Weeks and a few days... I'm running late! :)

Weight gain/loss: +3 or so... not sure.

Sleep? Ok for now. Still getting used to getting up 2-3 times per night.

Best moment this week? My birthday w/ family and friends. ~Possibly some movement from Baby J.

Food cravings: Nothing really... Still pretty sick at times. (Yes, I threw up on the interstate in Little Rock on Saturday)

What I miss? Not a thing!!!

What I am looking forward to? Dr. appt next monday.

What's Baby J up to??

Baby's now the size of a naval orange!

Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet.

Movement: Just some pulls, stretches, and tugs. Not sure if i can feel Baby J. yet.

What I am looking forward to? Everyday w/ our sweet miracle!!

Baby's now the size of a lemon!

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine, and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys, and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over her body for warmth.

Here is Baby Jones' debut on the blog!!! Our sweet miracle is due March 4, 2011. We can't wait to meet him or her! We are truly thankful for our miracle every single day!!!! The first pic was our first ultrasound pic at almost 9 weeks! The next pic was yesterday at almost 13 weeks! It's amazing at how much Baby J. has changed in only 4 short weeks!

We've made it to the 2nd trimester!!! YEA!!!!!

Of course these pics are full of their stuff, but hopefully we will be moving in soon. There is some wall paper to be taken down and some painting to be done, but overall we LOVE it!!!!!

We had such a blast at Magic Kingdom on our first day at Disney World. It RAINED all day so we finally got out around 5 p.m. This made for the perfect day! No lines, no crowd!

We had such a wonderful vacation to Disney World over Spring Break. We stayed at Disney's All-Star Music Resort in Calypso Building 10: Room 662. It was pool side and great!!! We both really enjoyed all 4 parks that we visited: Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingom. During this trip we celebrated Rich's birthday and our upcoming 5th anniversary. And then while walking through Germany at 9:30 p.m. (at Epcot of course)-- our realtor called and let us know that our offer had been accepted! I think Disney is pretty magical!!! What a memory!!

Teaching antonyms.....

So this week my 2nd graders were learning more about antonyms..... (opposites for all of you people that have been out of school for a while haha!) And we were talking about giant and tiny things!

So one little boy says, "A baby elephant is tiny." And a girl responds, "No a baby elephant isn't tiny, its as big as Mrs. Jones." And she was sooo serious!! As you can imagine I was crushed :)

The joys of teaching.............. i guess going to the gym now for 5 weeks isn't paying off! ha!

A thankful post

I haven't updated our blog in forever, so I decided this would be a good opportunity....

I can't believe we have been here in Batesville (Sulphur Rock, really but no one really knows where that is, ha!) for over 3 months now. We are still in our apartment, searching for a new house. We are both loving our new jobs! 14 kids in 2nd grade is heaven!!! :) And Rich spends his days seeing unusual things under bridges. We still miss all of our friends of course, but we are getting adjusted to life here.

I am so thankful for many things in our lives right now. I thought I would post just a few:
-family and friends (and going home for a visit this week!)
-new jobs that we both LOVE!!
-how close we have grown to God and each other through our infertility challenges.
-our marriage!
-and my laptop that keeps me connected to everyone! (haha! but really I am!!!)

I could go on and on, but I won't. We truly are blessed in so many ways and I am thankful! Hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving!

We also saw Tone Loc singing Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina. Saturday we skipped Riverfest and spent a night at the Loony Bin.

Rich's New Job

I think most all of our friends have heard by now that Rich got a new job. He will be transferring from the Jonesboro office to the Batesville office. He is the Assistant Bridge Inspector. I am so proud of his new promotion! He will begin the commute on Thursday. Wish him lots of luck!!!

Monday and Tuesday it was almost 80 degrees and I was wearing flip flops to school. Spring was in the air. Each day as I came home, I enjoyed our lonely pear tree starting to bloom. Well after 4 years, I finally did it! I wore the first (of many I'm sure) tacky Christmas sweaters!! And it lights up!!! Oh yes...Lights up! My kids thought I was sooo awesome!!!! Mom and I found them last year when Colony Shop was going out of business. (I have two!!!) Here it is....

This morning Rich said, "Are you jingling?" I said, "Yep and look." I showed him the lights. He said, "Oh I'm so embarrased!!!" Come on...who doesn't love a tacky Christmas sweater??? LOL!!!!

I completely missed Thanksgiving this year due to being sick! This past weekend I was excited to get together with some of our friends for another Thanksgiving. Before the holiday crazy sets in, I found this old favorite recipe!! Enjoy!!!!

Holiday Cookies

Tequila christmas cookies

1cup of water
1tsp baking soda
1cup of sugar
1tsp salt
1cup of brown sugar
1tbs lemon juice
4 large eggs
1cup of nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle of tequila

Sample the tequila in a large glass to check quality. Take a large bowl, and check the tequila again, to be sure it is of the highest quality. Pour one level cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar, beat again.

At this point ,it's best to make sure the tequila is still ok., so try another cup. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and chuck in the cup of dried fruit . Pick the frigging fruit and damn cup off the floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Next sift two cups of salt,or something . Check the Tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add one spoon of sugar, or somefink or whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Put the bowl through the window , finish off the booze and make sure to put the dirty stove in the dish washer.

I got home yesterday around lunch time from our unexpected hospital stay. Thank you so much for the many thoughts and prayers! We know God has a great plan for us. Even though I haven't personally talked to everyone, Rich is updating me on the many phone calls and cards. We are truly blessed to have such great friends and families! I will be off work for about 3 weeks. I am still really sore but getting around much better today. Thanks again for everything!! We love you all!!

Friday was my 27th birthday!!! I wasn't really looking forward to turning 27 but so far so its ok! I got the most beautiful flower arrangement from my mom & dad Friday at school. I just had to take a picture!!! Plus I got lots of great presents from my family and my sweet husband!

We had a really great trip to San Antonio! We visited the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Tower of the Americas, and Sea World. It was soooo hot, but we had fun!! On our way home, we stopped by Shiner, TX to visit the K. Spoetzel Brewery (a.k.a. Shiner Bock Brewery).

2. My new cell phone - my other phone was on its last leg!

3. Bunko is here Friday night. I love to have all the girls over at the house!

4. My philosophy class is almost over! Next Friday 26th, I'm done for the summer!! And only 1 class this fall and I think I'm getting a scholorship!!!! Yea!!!

5. Tuesdays with my mom! That's our mother-daughter time!

6. Getting to go on vacation to San Antonio soon!! I love vacation time!!!!!!

7. Friends, 'cause sometimes you just want to talk!!

8. How much work I've gotten done this week! And my school stuff is turning out too cute!!

9. My job at Westside- with gas prices so high, I don't know what I would do if I were still driving so far to teach! I'm pretty excited about this year!

Vacation planning Time!!!!!

We love to travel, but more than that I love to plan our trips!!!! I think I should have been a travel agent! Well I am currently planning our Summer Vacation to San Antonio. We are very excited to get away for awhile! I booked our hotel yesterday through priceline.... I got a $179 room for only $70!!! Priceline is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (shameless advertising....) If anyone knows anywhere in San Antonio that can't be missed, please let us know!
